Marc Anthony wanted reconciliation with Jennifer Lopez

Marc Anthony tried to reconcile with Jennifer Lopez but but decided to file for divorce when she told him she is in love with BF Casper Smart. Marc Anthony finally filed for divorce this week, nine  months after they made their separation public.

Anthony and Lopez met a few weeks ago to discuss their separation, Anthony tried to reconcile. But she decided that the marriage should end and she already started a serious relationship with dancer Casper Smart. He was hurt by her decision. He apparently had no idea that her relationship with Casper had become so serious.

So that’s why Marc finally filed for divorce from Jennifer Lopez this week.

Marc Anthony has finally filed for divorce from Jennifer Lopez, citing "irreconcilable differences" for the split. Anthony filed his petition on Monday to end the marriage, which he filed under his real name Marco Muniz.

He is asking for joint legal and physical custody of the couple's 4-year-old twins Emme and Max.

It is Anthony's second marriage. Lopez had been married twice before. Marc was previously married to former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres, while Lopez was married to Ojani Noa and Cris Judd.

According to Us Weekly, Lopez  has begun a relationship with backup dancer Casper Smart, 24 and Anthony began dating Venezuelan model Shannon De Lima, also 24, in January.

They worked together on "Q'Viva! The Chosen", tied the knot on June 5, 2004 in a secret ceremony at her Beverly Hills home.
